A Framework for Curvature-Based CAD Mesh Partitioning

Abstract In ISO Geometrical Product Specifications and Verification Standards (GPS) [1], partition is one of the fundamental operations used to obtain ideal or non-ideal features a product. The operation produces independent geometrical by decomposing object. A curvature-based CAD mesh partitioning framework proposed in this paper. combines several key steps including attribute calculation, local shape type refinement, region growing, slippage analysis statistical modeling. partitioned are classified into seven invariance classes surface context GPS. case study shows that not only appropriate but also accurate class recognition for GPS achieved framework.
